A new batch of inventory always sparks a bit of excitement, especially when there’s a chance to check things out in person at the March meeting. It’s cool that you’re offering to bring any item people want to see — that kind of flexibility really helps everyone make quicker decisions. Lately I’ve also been exploring options on www.autobidmaster.com/en/search/salvage-pickups/, and the range of salvage cars there keeps surprising me with how many hidden gems pop up. It’s a solid way to compare possibilities while waiting for the next meetup.

Capital Exotic Fish LLC

Visited Capital Exotic Fish on Idaho Ave in the District Saturday morning. Just a short walk for the Cleveland Park Metro station. Visit was hosted by Chris Teem and Max the official greeter.

Great space with many show tanks with comfortable seating to enjoy. Biggest tank is 600 gallons. Owner is an African cichlid fan so half the space is filled with those fish. The other side of the space is occupied by tanks containing primarily South American species plus a few other types.

Soft opening is February 11 for friends and fish club members. Membership card gets you a 20% discount for the soft opening and then 10% thereafter.

This morning, I made my first visit to Capital Exotic Fish and wanted to leave a positive review here.

It's a very nice store, with a good selection of fish, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Oh, and Max the greeter dog is a sweetheart.

If you're anywhere near Northwest DC, it's worth a visit.
