Hello, my name is Lilan. I’m looking for elegant ear/dumbo guppies. I purchased 16 Elephant ear guppies from two different Petco stores, but only 3 survived because they were all shipped from overseas southeast Asia. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for photo. Haha, he is still a little cute guy. And thanks again for all the helpful information you’ve provided! I’ll reach out in the future!
Sounds good! You can always reach out to us at fish.folk.aquatics@gmail.com
I’ve attached one of our males. The “dumbo ear” feature is faded.
Thank you so much! I actually found Frank’s information from other posts and emailed him a few days ago. He doesn’t have any, only fries at the moment. I actually found a local seller through Craigslist and I just picked up the fishes today. Hope they will all survive.
Thank you for the list! I would be interested in full red albino guppies I saw very pretty ones online, but I don’t want to overcrowd my tank.
Is there a way I can stay connected when there are new fishes available? Also the seller from Craigslist said there are events you guys would come and show or sell fishes. I would like to sign up to be informed If possible.
Thank you!
Here is Frank's e-mail: aquaticlifefarm@gmail.com
Let me recommend that before I check to see what I've got and shared photos, you reach out to another PVAS member, Frank Cowherd. Frank is an expert breeder, and runs his own single-source home-bred fish sale out of his home down in Charles Co. Here is his website: https://www.aquaticlifefarm.com and here is his contact info to inquire about available fish. I recommend Frank because we buy our guppy stock _from him_ so, his fish will generally be better quality. If he is all sold out, then we will work something out. We come in to the D. C. area once in a while, and can arrange a parking lot fish pick up.
We have Firecracker Dumbo Ear Guppies, Red Longfin Albino Guppies, and Mutt Guppies from pond season last year. Other fish we will bring in for sale once PVAS resumes in-person auctions may include . . . Tangerine Painted Lyretail Mollys, Bronze Corydoras, Emerald Killifish, possibly some Redtail Goodeids, Ancistrus (bristlenose plecos), maybe some female dwarf Gouramis for club members to try breeding projects with . . . etc.
Thank you so much for the tip! I actually used one table spoon of aquarium salt per gallon, but still couldn’t save them.
yes, thank you for your response via YouTube. I wasn't planning to breed them, but it’s so hard to keep and find them at local pet stores. Now I’m thinking at least save some babies so I don’t have to go through the entire process getting them again next year as they only live 1.5-2 years.
Where can I find a list of fishes you have available?
Thank you!
Hi Lilan. We connected via YouTube about your Guppy search. I may have a few, but I am not sure that they are the quality you are hoping to find. One thing that we have found helpful is treating all fish bought from known imports with Maricyn + Ich-X + API General Cure. We treat all three medicines together. This treats a reasonably wide spectrum of common ailments freshwater fish struggle with, and can often save a batch that is struggling with debilitating diseases and infection.
