This past summer, we enjoyed sharing a six-part "Spawning Rams" series. Here are all of the fry! There's a nice young teal discus that enjoys sharing the tank too. Many of these rams really do have a blue-flame highlight on their fins. We started with an electric blue and a golden ram cross. Then, we selected a golden-opal male and female from that batch to cross for this brood. These will be for sale to our LFS, Fish Club, and to anyone once warmer weather returns and shipping times become reliable following the holiday season.
What temp do you keep them? I see them with your discus
Hot! About 85-88 degrees Fahrenheit.
82. No rams (yet)
Rams seem to get on very well in a discus tank. We love adding a school of Cardinals too. All like the high temps.
And your vals can tolerate the high temps? What other plants are in there?
The valisneria is doing Ok... but it’s never really happy long term in our water. The other plants... got from a PVAS member in a trade... he wasn’t exactly sure of the type... blue hygrophylia, and some form of ludwigia...
