We found out about PVAS through Kyle at Blue Ribbon Koi and have been really getting back into fish keeping in the past year. Currently, I am working on 3 lines of guppies: Blue Grass, Black Moscow, and Dragon. Also, have a Betta breeding project going on and Neocaridina of 4 different colors. The best change I made to the tanks was purchasing a LA-45C piston air pump to drive all the sponge filters we have in use. Our daughter has now set up a 20-gallon tall tank with Blue Grass Guppies non-ribbons, a male Koi Betta, and some Amano shrimps.

Some members in GWAPA are trying to breed Amanos: www.gwapa.org
I am pretty sure 1 of them is a female, with a wide body and saddle on the top. I am trying to introduce a some frozen bloodworms and brine shirmp to give them more protien with less luck getting it to them with the guppies around. I might just have to make a tank just for them.
You sure you have female Amano shrimp? May need more protein for them to berry up.
The Amano are the classic type, I was really hoping to breed them to have and army to battle the hair algae in my tanks. Sad to say, I have yet to see one of them berried. I am prepared with phytoplankton culture growing in 3 bottles and sea salt ready to mix up.
Welcome. What type of Amano shrimps? The October 5 auction will have lots of guppies for sale.
