Group Buys

Group Buys are open to all PVAS members in good standing. The purpose of Group Buys is twofold: to save money for members on shipping costs and to reward club sponsors. The club absorbs shipping costs on most orders. Exceptions may occur for very heavy items in which case the shipping costs will be built into the item prices (examples: rock, hardwood, dry plant fertilizers).

Members are expected to pick up and pay for their items at the designated meeting. It's not fair to the Group Buy Coordinator to have to hold the items. Payment is cash (amount rounded up to the nearest dollar) or check (made out to PVAS).

PVAS will try a group buy for Frozen Foods through Brine Shrimp Direct. Check out their webite offerings

brineshrimpdirect.com but not their pricing. Special pricing on the cube packs for a club group buy, especially if we order 140 cube packs which will fill one box. Suggested cost for frozen bloodworm cube packs , shipping included with dry ice packaging, would be approx. $3.77/pack (see photo image online). Let's just say about $4 for now, exact cost can be worked out later. If you are ordering, you must need multiple packs, right? Ordering through their website, 21 bloodworm cube packs comes to $6.46 each with shipping!!! What a great savings to order in bulk. As announced during the June PVAS meeting, we are doing a group buy with Brine Shrimp Direct (BSD): https://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/

BSD sells brine shrimp eggs (cysts) of varying grades from 65% hatch rate to 90% hatch rate.

They are also a great source for quality Golden Pearls in various sizes: 5-50 micron, 50-100 micron, 100-200 micron, 200-300 micron, 300-500 micron, and 500-800-micron. For best results, purchase no more than a 6-month supply at a time.

They also offer a couple of different types of flake foods, pellet foods, and hatching products.

**Note: Purchases of frozen foods and refrigerated gel foods, including EZ-Hatch shell-less brine shrimp cysts are excluded due to their stringent shipping and storage requirements.**
