Very easy to raise. You can feed them with a large variety of things. I use whatever I happen to have. Right now I am using turtle food pellets since I had a bunch left after my last turtle passed. I have also used Various other reptile pellets and/or whatever fish food pellets I happen to have.
Add a small amount of food to the culture every day or so. Amount will depend on the size of your container. If the culture starts to smell you overfed. Just add some fresh water (I use straight tap water) and don't feed for a few days. I remove a turkey baster of culture from each jar ( mostly quart to half gallon size) and use it to feed things. Top off the cultures with tap water every few days. This way they are getting small frequent water changes. When feeding your fish just pour the rotifer right in. Being freshwater they will live until eaten.
I bring some to pretty much every auction. If you are going to be at the meeting next month and want some let me know. I will bring an extra bag for you.
Oh yes! I was wondering how you fed and maintained them. I missed the one in the auction and was wondering if you had anymore.
Probably me - John Mangan.
