One more CPD lost when I checked late last night. No more losses this morning. Everything looking good midday. Noticed my female albino cory swimming up and down at the front glass, then noticed her anal fins clamped. 🙂 A minute or two later she deposited two dozens eggs on the glass. I draped a spawning mop over them as some protection against getting eaten while they harden. I really need to get the eggs into the breeding tank. As much as Iike to move mom to it I don't want to introduce something. That's wild. The water changes weren't even cooler. I got it up to the same temp first. Hadn't done any feeding prep either.

After the parasite treatments I did a 25 gallon water change Satuday evening. Sunday evening I changed another 20 or 25. Today I began a Kanaplex anti-bacterial treatment. Sunday morning I found a sick black neon and isolated it to a 20 long initially then yesterday it was still alive so further isolated to a plastic cup within the 20 so I could add some rain water and catappa leave tannin to a limited area. This morning it had gotten free into the 20. This evening stil alive but still pale, no spasmic activity the times I've check on it. Sunday night the rest of fish were looking fine. Monday morning everything in the 125 was looking good but I didn't see the 3 peacock gudgeons, figuring they were all hiding in the wood. Later in the day I found one dead in the middle of the water, caught in plants. It looked like a fish that had been dead for days. The rest of the day everything looked good until the lights went out. This morning I found an ill ember tetra and isolated it to the cup in the 20. It didn't last long. The last remaining pencilfish that was in a 10 gallon died, it had been pale for days but behaved normal. Later today the remaining pair of peacocks came out of the wood, the female having a thinner belly, so maybe laid some eggs. I'm now counting 4 remaining CPDs, so it seems five died without a trace. Shrimp quickly took care of them during the night apparently.

Alright,I'll probably be the only one getting there by motorcycle. So likely the only one with a motorcycle helmet nearby.

Corys have been sold off and recently decided I should do some guppy control after the last batch of 40+ popped out, all females. Plecos have been moved to the big tank. I need more than a few adult guppies in there. I considered a dwarf gourami but then after watching lots of Youtube videos I got the idea of some rainbows. I got two pairs of Boesemani from Capital Exotics and then later another pair from a PetSmart for some genetic diversity, go figure they actually cost less at Capital. Very competitive prices there even compared to PetSmart/Co. And today I got the idea of going to Congressional in the hopes of finding some Praecox rainbows. Sure enough they had them and a bunch of other types of rainbows. Probably the highest-priced shop around, but I don't mind so much if I can find something less common there because I really don't want to do online and pay a load for shipping. But the prices for some common corys is perplexing, twice anyplace else. However there were some types I haven't seen anywhere else for only a few bucks more. Last night a piece of Lexan I ordered showed up a day early so I was able to make new lids for the 55 that will allow for max light passthrough, precise fitting around filters, and ideally sized openings for the automatic feeder. and some pothos. $40 total for the Lexan and clear plastic hinges.

I think you're right. In most of the images I saw online the leaves looked different, but on the USDA USFS site has an image that looks like it.

There is a guy in Falls Church that sells them on Craigslist. Red, blue, yellow, emerald and orange.

Thanks for the heads up! I just got back from there, it was my first visit. Lots of really nice fish and aquariums, fish I haven't seen elsewhere. I was able to buy two panda garras. And they're interested buying/trading for my baby corys as well as potentially working together to breed some in-demand, less common species.

In September I was able to get three from Rick's in Frederick and another from a Petco. A bit prior to that I saw some at the shop in Winchester.

Are you specifically looking for locally bred or does it not matter?
