A friend of mine brought to my attention that AWLA is seeking a home to adopt 2 large angelfish (which come with their 75 gallon tank). It seems they are looking for someone ASAP because they do not have the room or expertise in the shelter to take the tank and care for the fish. They are hoping to find someone to take them directly from the owner before they come into the building. It’s unclear whether there is an adoption fee. If interested you can email aschindler@awla.org https://www.instagram.com/p/C4-zt8ZMgPB/?igsh=MnF3aDJteG9zNzZo

PVAS (mainly valued long time members Frank Cowherd and current treasurer Michael Barber) previously assisted Hearst Elementary School in D.C. in restoring an antique aquarium. Recently the school was remodeled requiring the tank to be moved. Since then the tank has begun leaking. The school is requesting assistance from the club again in repairing the tank. Anyone interested in assisting with the possible needed repairs for this well loved aquarium can reply to this post or reach out to any board members for more information.

Get ready for our most social event of the year, our only meeting dedicated to socializing, good food, and of course, fish. There will be no presentation. We will have a raffle and mini-auction as usual. The club will provide turkey, ham, water, and soft drinks. Each club member is expected to bring an item. Homemade is always best if you have time. Sign up below so others can plan what to bring. We need side dishes and desserts.
