Method of Reproduction: Jumps out of the water to spawn on overhanging leaves. Male splashes eggs to keep them wet.

Number and Gender Distribution of Parents: 12 total, about a 2:1 F:M ratio.

Origin of Parents: Tank raised - Czech shipment from Londontowne Tropicals.

Approximate number of eggs or fry: A bazillion.

Date of Hatch or Birth: First hatch was on 5/13. The fish spawn almost daily. Eggs mature and hatch within about 2 days. Fry are free swimming about a day later.

Comments and Additional Information - Eggs will hatch submerged. I let the male care for them until I can see the developed fry in the eggs and then I move the leaf (pothos plant) to a separate tank and submerge it until the eggs have hatched.
