Homemade floating mops made of green scrubby pads that use a piece of pool noodle to float (e.g. Medaka Mops)
Food Fed to Parents and How Often* Tetramin flake food daily, Live baby brine shrimp twice a week. Live black worms as a treat every 2-3 weeks.
Indoor breeding and raising strategy: I have bred these multiple times. I leave the parents in the 10 gallon tank with several Medaka Mops. Every couple days I remove the medaka mops (replacing them with fresh mops) and put them in a 2.5 gallon aerated tank with a couple drops of methylene blue and an almond leaf. I add more mops with eggs for a week or so. After an additional week, when I start to see the fry, I begin feeding them sera micron powder once or twice a day. Also baby brine shrimp when available. When the fry are of decent size I remove all the mops and move the fry to a larger tank.
