Dave Snell and Don Kinyon both have listed items for sale in Richmond. Along with Frank, there are about a dozen listings from our group We have also invited some of our Local Fish Stores to be there, whether they sell anything, they may just solicit their stores, but also they may buy from some of us that have live goods for sale. there are no fees to attend, just come, shop till you drop, and visit (at distance) with your neighbors to the south.... we do know of a couple folks coming up from Raleigh also...

Lydia: do you have any plans on coming down to Richmond for the JRAS tag sale? I have to mention (embarassed) that the starter you gave me didn't get into my new tub fast enough. Sunday after the pvas sale,when i got home, I tore my meniscus, and was incapacitated, and have been since sunday, so i didn't have a chance to make a new worm culture. If you are not coming down but know someone that is and can give them the starter for me i would greatly appreciate it. i am so sorry for asking again but life got in the way and truthfully, my fish have been at the bad end of my not getting around much before today.... let me know If this doesn't work out i suppose we can plan on another time down the road. thanks david

With the JRAS tailgate tagsale coming up, (oct 17th) I really wanted to take par in this event sunday to see how our big sister (pvas) makes it work... The day was a huge success for all.... it was really evident that just because you didn't have many "pre-orders" people wanted to see in person what we had and most sellers that spoke with did very well... i too think there were over 200 people there, and I hope folks keep this in mind when coming down for the richmond event. Thanks to all that put in the time to make this happen and i hope yo decide because this worked you make the effort to visit JRAS's event. much like pvas, no costs, no fees and you don't have to be a member to sell or buy for ours david

I enjoyed the meeting today.... the idea of asking questions prior to the speakers appearance, does need some learning... i thought of questions during his talk... so its almost like if you don't know about the topic you need to do some homework prior to the day.... of course I can always contact him separately after the fact and ask my follow up questions... I have experienced two different clubs/lectures now and its apparent, that this may be the way to go for a while until we get back to normalcy... all in all a good topic/meeting, and run well

Assuming you are culling, to keep your colored strain going, do you need to feed "color foods" to maintain good color as well?

On breeding: So you are keeping your shrimp happy, they are breeding for you and you have now got several different color variants in different tanks. Now you want to try crossing your shrimp, (say a red to yellow, or orange to black for example) are there dominant and recessive colors? Does the progeny carry good color or muddled colors? how many line breedings would one need to come up with a newer color strain? obviously, there would need to be culling done, and taking the best of each generation to proceed, but has work been done to decide when a color strain is breeding true?
