Ok... so as the title eludes to: this is not a tank for your office desk! I am setting up this post for my good friend Rick Parsley. Some of you may know his name as he owns the facility where the James River Aquarium Society holds their events. This tank is perfect for that crazy cichlid person, who wants to set up a perfect african biotope... or someone with tastes for a marine ecocystem... or even a weird killifish keeper who wants to keep a lot of fish in a very very big tank...Ok... seriously,, this tank is "Low E" glass, has a Eurotop, drilled for a sump, has a matching stand and top section... and has all the plumbing to facilitate either fresh or salt water. the dimensions of this tank are 120" x 36" x 36" It has lights (metal haylide) pumps, loads of equipment, large skimmer, huge amount of coral rock and coraline rock. When it was pulled down, it was a marine tank and all the equipment that was there when it was running will be included. If you are interested, please feel free to contact throught this thread, but please.... ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRIES> not everyone can handle a tank this size but for the one that is looking for a realy good deal, this is for you. I will try to get some pics but will take some time.... Rick is busy with his work..

SET UP FOR THIS TAGSALE IS FROM 12-1 PM For everyone that attended the PVAS TAGSALE, they saw that it turned out to be very successful. We at JRAS decided to also put on an event, that is in line with the covid issues we have, keeping a social distance, and proper face mask wearing> In lite of the fact that this year, we have been working on ways to give our membership opportunities to move fish stock in a safe manner we are holding this event with no fees involved. no table fees, no % of sales to club, and we are also inviting a few of our local stores to participate, whether they are distributing flyers, sales or simply goodwill to our fish keepers.. Please try to make our event... another way to move on some of the fish that have been piling up in your tanks, or maybe finding that one species you didn't have, showed up in someones list. Look forward to seeing our sister society members for another outing.. We are an easy 90 min. from northen va. What else is on your schedule during this time.????? Please go to the FORUM tab NAVIGATE TO THE MARKETPLACE THREAD, and look at the rules and directions for attending, selling or buying at our upcoming Tailgate/Tagsale.  You can also follow the rules for our Auctions page when understanding what you can and cannot do at this event.   There will also be a table set up for anyone that wishes to DONATE items towards the sale for JRAS. Sellers are responsible for their own sales setup.  JRAS will not be supplying tables, and please note:                       *LOGO ADVANTAGE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR ANYONE DURING THE EVENT*                           please plan accordingly for any food/snacks/water, or facilities on your own.

For those of you aquarists that have not gotten enough from regular meetings, the James River Aquarium Society is holding its September meeting virtually, with a Zoom meeting. David Snell, is going to be giving a lecture on photographing aquariums and fish, which if you haven't heard his talk on this it is well worth while. Especially in these times when we want to post pics of our tanks and possible fish for sale, or just improving on what we do now, this is a great topic to help us brush up on our photographic skills. As mentioned, the meeting will be a Zoom meeting, and will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 7pm. This is an excellent opportunity to feed your hobby without travel, or leaving the couch. Having been a participant to several other clubs virtual meetings over the past few months, i think this is going to offer folks another way to see how our sister societies are handling the hobby through a virtual system. you can go to the JRAS website www.jras.org and go to our forum then upcoming announcements. All the details are listed there, but if you have issues logging in please feel free to contact me through the contact form on the site. i will post the link information here as well . Thanks so much and hope you can join us for an enlightening lecture.
