Our 55 gal. African Cichlid Tank is also home to three Bristlenose Plecos. One pair have started spawning about once each month. The first time, we just let them see if they could do it all on their own. The wigglers didn't last too long. After about three unsuccessful tries, we've decided to pull the eggs.
The Male has set up in this tiny crevice at the bottom of a 100 lb Texas Holey Rock
We took a siphon and sucked them out into a Lee's Specimen container held over a bucket
We suspended it inside the 55 gal. to regulate temperature, added air to tumble the eggs, and some wood
After four days, the eggs began to hatch
As fry eat through their yolk sack, some was wisteria added
We set up a small grow-out tank for them in the cabinet beneath the 55 gal.
