In The Tank

Public·27 members

What is this and how do I get rid of it?

Slimy looking material which reaches an inch or so from bottom of the tank. Just showed up a couple of days ago. My intuition is that's it's a cyanogen bacteria. Anything to do about it other than reduce light, reduce feeding, and increasing water changes?

It looks like slime. Probably it is a fungus and hard to get rid of. Overfeeding is the probable cause particularly if it is a new tank. "p

Possible solution is to quit feeding and do daily water changes (50% or more) until the tank water looks good. Then start feeding sparingly.
