Amano Shrimp Breeding
The first of two Amano berried females finally released her eggs yesterday. I have now moved all the larvae to a marine tank with phytoplankton and tons of air flow to keep the water moving. Sorry, the video is a little washed out due to the phytoplankton, and it needs a light to attract the larvae to an area to capture a short clip. They are currently white to clear little specks, making it difficult for the camera to focus. The little specks to the left are all larvae.

Failed! Having a hard time getting the larvae to survive past day 2 or 3. I have a few left right now and did a complete clean out of the tank to rest it in the case there was something in the water. The conditions that changed right before the larvae died was a drop in salinity from me adding water to adjust the salinity back to 30% where it was close to 31% so about half a gallon of water and bubbler was set a little strong that night where there was a little more moisture from the bubbles outside the tank. Another thing that may have caused the crash might have been the sponge filter that is a course foam and the larvae can get caught there, but that is quite fast for the filter to do that to so many in such a short period of time.
The reset water now is set to 29% salinity with less phytoplankton to cloud up the water, bubbler set to halfway to show some flow of water around the whole 5 gallon tank, and no filter. If these remaining larvae do not survive the Amano females are already berried and the 1st of them should release her eggs in about 15 days.
